I’m Hayley, I’m vegan and I’m pretty happy about it! Vegan is the new black right?! But seriously going vegan has awakened a whole new passion for food, nutrition and cooking. Its a real journey of discovery and delight I’d love to share with you.
My story is that I pretty much accidentally became vegan in 2015. There was nothing about being vegan that appealed to me, I didn’t even like the word ‘vegan’ and just thought it all seemed like a bit of a bother. Then my vegan house guest appeared for a few months and I watched with interest to see what the heck she ate, I was intrigued, nothing more. As I watched though I became inspired. This vegan eating wasn’t a bother at all, it was incredibly healthful and delicious. I decided to quietly give it a try for a couple of months and never looked back. Coincidentally, around that time I had a blood test and was told my cholesterol was high, iron was low and I was pre-diabetic. 3 months later I went back for a test and everything was back down to the normal range and has continued to improve since. For me its a no-brainer for my health, the health of the planet and the animals.
I’m happiest in my kitchen making a huge mess but when I’m not doing that I’m probably eating, thinking about eating, hanging out with this guy, reading vegan blogs or watching vegan youtube channels, exploring the planet, doing yoga, hugging trees, drinking coffee and my favourite thing… laughing. I like laughing. Alot.
