Out of the Franklin Av subway station, walk up Franklin Avenue and turn left onto Lincoln Place, take a right onto Washington Avenue, walk down a short way and you will find Riverdel vegan cheese shop and deli on your left.
A little treasure chest of a vegan deli, walls lined with a long fridge on one side of the shop housing an impressive array of vegan cheese and floor to ceiling shelves on the other side with chutneys, seaweed caviar and all kinds of other jars of niceties.
At the front of the shop is a small window bench perfect for sitting and savouring a charcuterie board whilst watching the world go by. We had a little bowl of the sweet cherry tomato soup too which was delicious. The cheeses on the board today were a blue, a port cheddar and our favourite was a pepper crusted, all nut based. Accompanying the cheese a cherry jam, apple and almond chutney, mustard, some pickles and sausage and ham slices. Also accompanying the board were alot of mmmm type noises of appreciation.
Definately worth a trip to Brooklyn and do pick up a bar of the Bourbon and sea salt white chocolate on your way out.
