Dairy & Sugar Free Fruit & Nut Chocolate. For real.
Don’t you want to just pop one in your mouth right now?
The good news is this recipe is so quick and easy you can be popping them very soon. The even better news is because they are sugar free you won’t feel that craving to keep eating more and more of them. 1 or 2 is most likely going to be enough. How great is that?!
This is another recipe from The Body Rescue Plan, courtesy of lovely Christianne Wolff. If you’ve been following the previous recipes you will know I joined her Sugar Free Challenge to kick off the New Year and it has really got me out of that yucky sluggish January feeling.
I’m so excited to share this with you because 1. CHOCOLATE!!!! and 2. ITS DELICIOUS! Better tasting than shop bought and without the sugar that sneaks itself into those off the shelf bars. It has been a very interesting week being sugar free and checking labels. I didn’t even realise that dark chocolate had sugar in it before!
A note about ingredients and substitutions
Feel free to add whatever fruit & nut combo you like. I have used a mix of macadamia nuts, seeds, puffed quinoa and dried fruits. The recipe calls for coconut syrup but as I didn’t have that I used date syrup which worked just fine. If you can’t find raw cacao but you do have cocoa in your cupboard that will also work though raw cacao is going to be more nutritious. Finally, unflavoured coconut oil is going to be better unless you want it to taste of coconut. I used this one.
You can create whatever shapes you like using silicone moulds and they are the easiest for getting the chocs out of after freezing (I used ice cube trays). You can find lots of different shapes for every occasion on Amazon.
I really hope you try these and like them as much as I do!
