Vegan Egg Yolk

Perfect for dunking toast, slathering in a breakfast sandwich or as the yolk to a vegan fried egg!

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornflour heaped
  • 2 tablespoons soya or almond milk you could also use a light flavour oil such as sunflower
  • 2 teaspoon nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon kala namak (black salt)


  1. Whisk all the ingredients except the kala namak, together in a small saucepan. Set over a medium-high heat stirring constantly with a whisk until the sauce cooks and thickens (about 5 mins). Stir the kala namak in at the end.  Serve and enjoy!
